APC Chieftain Accused Of R"pe Arrives Court On A Stretcher

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bayelsa State, Chief Perekeme Richard Kpodo, who was remanded in prison custody for alleged rape in Yenagoa, the state capital - arrived in court on a stretcher. 

Kpodo was alleged to have detained one Teke Blessing on June 20th, 2018 at Etegwe area of Yenagoa with an intent to defile her and on the same day he allegedly r*ped her, thereby committing an offence punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Code.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyer said he's "sick" and applied for bail.
