On Wednesday, December 23, a Federal High Court presided by Justice Ahmed Mohammed remitted the case file of the federal republic of Nigeria versus Nnamdi Kanu to the chief judge of the court.

Mohammed’s action came after the accused person, Kanu, prior to hearing his plea objected the court’s attempt to preside over allegations against him by the state.

Kaduna refinery now distributes fuel daily

Kaduna refinery starts production

The Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) has begun daily production of petrol as speculated few days ago.

Ohi Alegbe, group general manager, group public affairs division, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Wednesday said the plant began production with an initial PMS yield of about 1.5 million litres and  increased its daily yield to 3.2 million litres.

There was drama at a Federal High Court in Abuja today, December 23, when Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra and a leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) made an objection in court.

On calling the case, the court clerk had asked the accused person, Kanu, alongside two others – Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, if they understand English, a procedure normally done before hearings.

Fresh charges awaits Nnamdi Kanu



The Federal Government of Nigerian has slammed fresh criminal charges against leader of Biafra protesters, Nnamdi Kanu, after he was released by a Federal High Court on December 17, 2015.

Kanu’s counsel, Vincent Obeta, said the Federal Government filed the fresh charges on December 18 at the same court that granted him bail.

The fresh six-count charge, Mr. Obeta said, concerns allegations of 
treasonable felony, maintaining an unlawful society and illegal possession of items, among others.

The charges were filed by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, and signed by the federal Director of Public Prosecution, Mohammed Diri.

The allegations include a plot by Mr. Kanu and some persons now at large to cause crises that might force the President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to concede certain parts of Nigeria to a purported Biafra nation.

According to Premium Times report, Mr. Kanu was also alleged to have been maintaining unlawful society and retaining items belonging to IPOB, among others.

The allegations, the charges said, contain offences punishable under sections 41 (C), and 63 of the criminal code act; as well as section 47(2) (a) of the Customs and Excise Management Act.

The other two persons jointly accused in the fresh charges are Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.

“However, I have reached the conclusion that there are too many demons in the system for that hell to be turned into heaven.”

The pump price of petrol may sell for less than the current official price of N87 per litre before the end of the first quarter of 2016, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has revealed.

The announcement is coming on the heels of the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company, KRPC, resuming production of petroleum products beginning from today (Saturday).

UN intends peace for syria
